Well After traveling about an hour away from my home, I reach Justin’s place. I’m invited in. No sooner then I sat down, did I notice the Car porn playing on the 50ish + flat screen TV. Of course one of the option videos has to be playing. I would have expected nothing less. Justin’s wonderful wife, Kristie, was so kind to go and get food for us.
After a Night of hypnotizing car porn, we were ready to embark on a journey. To the famed home of the Beast, We continue to drive out into the country. And slowly, flat land becomes small mountains. It is currently a picturesque landscape out of the “Initial D” live action movie. The scene where Bunta is driving the car on a flat bed out to a shop that is in the middle of nowhere, save for all the green everywhere. It is covered by nothing but white snow. But even in this picturesque landscape, this is the type of place somebody could kill you and chop you into little pieces and no one would even know. But as in the “Initial D” movie, our journey stops near a large shop. After getting acquainted with our lodging arrangements, I was given the tour. Which included, A Beautiful Trans Am and many other cars, I was shown the main shop.
After entering the shop, realizing that the snow had blinded me with way too much bright light, the dim, cave of machines, I spotted the beast. A green monster, with its face off, and heart exposed. The infamous AE86, stood, perched ready for more. I look around; in this cave of a shop and realize we are surrounded, by Parts and tools. Everything that we need, to pretty much do anything we needed. After Fitting the Wood burning Heater into place, we prepped the place for work. Right away we went ahead and started to crank on the car. Before we knew it, the suspension and tie rods where installed, the seat and harness was in the car, the TRD header was in place, and few different discussions, of placement and install of a few other parts were laid out for the next time she get work done.
The most disturbing thing was, during the entire time the work was being performed all I could hear was the constant reminder that the hillbillies where still out side, shooting, at what I don’t know. I heard more gunshots then I have ever heard on the north side of Milwaukee.
And then like an Angel once more, in the middle of no where, Kristie, with a blazing glory of a car horn, let us know that she had returned from her excursion, with dinner. After the cold had tried to suck the life from my body all day, only being fended off by our wood burning heater, Food was perfect. “Chinese food = the bomb diggity!” Good Call. After dinner and little bit of drinking, I crashed.
The next Morning was cleanup time, after cleaning the shop; we embarked on a small excursion of the local area. Only to find Beautiful Touge EVERYWHERE! Hair pin turns, sweepers, elevation changes, Awesomeness. The GPS was not even mapping half of the roads that we were on. The Scion Touge monster, continued to find more and more twists and turns. These legendary roads make me smile. I didn’t believe that something this amazing even existed. I feel as almost that I driving on the mountains of Akina.
This is a good trip. But sadly it has to come to an end, and we will have to depart, and I have to drive home, with the dreams of a Touge and the AE86 monster, dancing in my head.
