OK long story short. Street racing in San Diego is up. San Diego (mainly Chula Vista area) received a grant of $600,000 to "combat" street racing. They are using it to pay officers for extra hours to find people with illegal modifications. (Yeah, that will stop the street racers for sure!) READ ARTICLE AND WATCH VIDEO www.fox5sandiego.com/pages/landing/?blockID=259725&feedID=553Now I think that is plain stupid. Baka. There is a "program" in San Diego called "racelegal" it is exactly what it sounds like. A parking lot is rented out on Friday night and kids can drag race (1/8th mile) for about $30. Problem is not only are people plain sick of waiting in line 30 minutes minimum to race 1/8 a mile, they are sick of the 1/8 mile and plain scared to come to the event. Police officers (used, I don't know if they still do) wait outside the event and bust people for illegal mods. The program worked at first. Check out the street racing numbers on this graph. Deaths back up? Wonder why!?! www.racelegal.com/web/about.aspI have wanted to put on my own event for a while. Have a cone track set up, a skid pad and a dragstrip. I could have pro drifters there giving demos, signing autographs and even coaching drivers. No fix-it tickets either. A friend of mine is a commissioner for Chula Vista and is willing to wet up a meeting with me, the police chief and mayor! Right now I am in WTF mode and really don't know what to do. I don't have a business plan or anything. I have an idea that to them has already been accomplished(racelegal) HELP?

No fix-it tickets either. BTW: I have not put on my own event due to personal liability reasons. I, personally do not want to be liable for a couple hundred stupid street racing kids. Period. If the event is "put on" by the city or county it is nothing on my ass if someone has their tow run over and sues for 10 gazillion dollars.

The closest old airport is El Toro. I am actually racing there on Saturday and Sunday. It is more then an hours drive from my house, and that is almost 2 hours from Chula Vista. A street racer is not willing to drive that far (I don't blame them. It sucks to drive so long to get to a track!) The thing is, there is no track in or super close to San Diego. El Toro is closest place you can really race. Here you go; maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&hl=en&hs=pmL&ie=UTF-8&q=orange%20county%20great%20park&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wl&um=1ok it says 1 hour 30 minutes but I can tell you that is not right haha (you can type in "chula vista, CA in get directions)

move out of cali. to much politics, not enough results. one thing i dont get is that all these regulations to keep illegal mods off the street forces alot of people to buy trailers and a bigger vehicle to pull them which is usually a truck, end result your putting more polutants in the air. its stupid. cali is so beyond fucked. im surprised that no one has done the proper math to prove that it doesnt help one iota. theres plenty of hot rods and old school cars(love em btw) that dump more into the air. complete ass rape.

I am not worried about me. I can't get busted for illegal mods or anything. I still hate california politics though. It makes me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis how stupid everything is. I know the commissioner of Chula Vista and she explained California politics to me in a nutshell. Apparently there is a really, really stupid person that is on the Chula Vista council. He is hurting the city badly. The only way to get rid of him is to promote him to a higher position (ie statewide) They are attempting to promote him so he can't do any more damage to the City. Stupid isn't it? Back to street racing... It is just that the street racing deaths have skyrocketed the last few years. It has gotten to the point where the state and cops and "coming down on street racing" any way they can (or think they can) All they are doing is pissing people off. They wont reduce the number of street racing deaths. I found out that they cited 94 people, impounded 17 cars and arrested 8 people on Friday April 6th alone. This is Chula Vista (a mere part of San Diego county) It is not a huge city, it takes 2 minutes to travel from the north border to the south and about 7 (if you hit no red lights) east to west. 94 citations, 17 impounds on one day in such a small area. Seriously. That is effed up. Now, am friends with a few cops. We get along, there doesn't have to be a war here (that is what it is turning into into) everybody can get along AND reduce the number of street racing deaths.

what do people race...... like hondas? or like all kinds of cars? They are only targeting "ricers' That is another thing I am upset about. I see more mustangs and bros street racing then "ricers" Do you have bros out there? See definition #2 and #3 www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=broI would rather have a Honda hit me then get run over by racing bro trucks. media.photobucket.com/image/bro%20truck/DEZNUTJOB/IMG_1029.jpgWe will see how it goes. I don't think I will be able to fix any of this but will give it a shot. Any ideas are appreciated.

wow who ever writes those definitions must've been picked on during highschool/college and is bitter. way to much generalizing in there. id say #1 bro definition is somewhat accurate. " bro did you see what brandon did? he did a backflip onto a coffee table!! it was so rad bro!!"

Definitions #2 and #3 are correct. A bro is most often a very negative thing.
